At the annual Gold Cup show in 2001, the late Peter Winfield of the famous Riber Kennel introduced Margaret and Peter to Luc Detry.
A Man who has spent his lifetime breeding and showing Smooth Fox Terriers in Belgium.
Peter Winfield encouraged and advised on the choice of our first Smooth Fox Terrier.
So in 2004, we welcomed Belfox Bestar to the Forgevale Kennel.

In 2005, Belfox Bestar returned to Belgium to be mated. Unfortunately she suffered a severe attack of meningitis with the subsequent loss of any pups.
Following a long and arduous recovery period Bestar returned to the show ring in 2007 and won RBCC at Belfast under Jenny Thornton.
In 2008, Bestar was mated to CH Walteau Bandmaster, resulting only in 2 puppies- Forgevale Fourstar and Foregvale Foreman.
Forgevale Fourstar enjoyed the show ring in 200??? and gained a CC under Sheila Steadman at Three Counties.

In 200??? Belfox Countess joined the Forgevale team. Countess loved people and babies but disliked the show ring, but nonetheless won RCC at WKC in 200???
Forgevale has continued to work with belfox as can be seen in the pages dedicated to the individual bitches.
Countess (Tess) was mated to Diamond and then subsquently 3 years later in 2010 to CH Glendraterra Sunset Strip.
This successful mating produced a lovely bitch Ch F. Simply Stunning ( a GSS ex BC daugther) was then mated to Int Ch Belfox Fubelfox which produced Ch F. Dream Princess.

The liaison with Belfox continued in 2016 when Ch Forgevale Simply Stunning was mated to Ch Belfox Original. This resulted in the birth of Ch Forgevale Quintessence in 2017.
During 2016 Belfox Paris joined the Forgevale Kennels. Enjoying the show ring and easily gained 1CC and 1RCC she has recently had a litter of pups from a successful mating with Belfox Olaf.
From this litter we have cemented the type in the breed which Forgevale and Belfox wish to maintain by working closely together to produce quality lines for many years to come.
